Timber Burl and Pāua Shell (Abalone)

Pāua shell (Abalone) hold a rainbow of iridescent colours. Quality shells were  sustainably sourced from New Zealand and meticulously placed onto the pen body with the utmost attention to detail. The striking colours range from deep sapphire blue and turquoise green to purples, pinks and creams, no wonder it is also known as sea opal. Pāua shell is traditionally associated with the stars and recognised by the New Zealand Maori as treasure. This pen is sure to impress the most discerning writer or pen collector. We have taken pāua shell, carefully crushing them, meticulously nestling them next to beautiful Australian mallee timber burl. Once set in place the blank is turned on the wood lathe and polished to a spectacular crystal clear shine. The pen pictured is not the pen you will receive but it will be just as stunning and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the makers.

Yes we can personalise your pen.  We laser engrave the timber part of this pen or a wooden pen box. In the text box please provide:

• Pen engraving: 20 letters and spaces max. Laser engraving is done on the timber underneath the lacquer. Please specify if the pen is for a left or right hander.
• Timber box engraving: 50 letters and spaces max. (logo, symbols or line drawings are OK).
