Our pens help plant trees. We have partnered with ReForest Now in an Australian tree planting initiative. For every pen, pencil, letter opener and journal sold we donate $1 towards tree planting in Australia. At checkout you can also plant your own tree and receive a tree planting certificate with your order.
ReForest Now is a reputable environmental not-for-profit dedicated to helping individuals and businesses make earth saving actions. Through tree planting we can create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and reforest Australia.
Together we are saving the planet, one tree planting at a time.
Yes, we can personalise your timber pen via laser engraving for you.
Any style of wooden pen, pencil or timber pen box can be engraved (except laminated timber pens). We engrave directly onto the timber and then apply 14 coats of finish for a super smooth finish.
Sorry, resin pens cannot be engraved.
While we can engrave any timber pen, the lighter coloured timbers show the engraving more distinctly, so we don’t recommend engraving dark timbers. Please keep in mind that a pen is a small item and the number of letters / words you can engrave is limited to 25 letters and spaces (subject to pen style and font). NO set up fees and we don't charge per letter for engraving, we simply have one affordable price.
As you order your pen or pencil just choose the personalised engraving option. Please let us know if the pen or pencil engraving is for a left or right hander. If you would like a particular font please message us to organise a custom font.
Absolutely. Custom timber pens are our specialty.
Nothing makes us happier than making you the exact wooden pen, fountain pen, pencil or letter opener you require. We love nothing more than helping you design your perfect bespoke pen and then handcrafting it in our woodworking space on the northside of Brisbane. We love that you appreciate craftsmanship and our artisans pride themselves on having their fingerprints on every step of the 10 step pen making process. We love that you want something unique, a pen that no one else in the world has.
We handcraft every item to order and hold only a limited amount of pre-made pens, pencils and letter openers for the markets. All our custom pen orders move into a queue for the wood lathe as soon as payment clears.
Usually pens are made and posted within 5 working days from your order being placed and often within 3 days. Though we try to anticipate orders and keep all our fittings in stock, occasionally it takes up to 3 weeks to complete your order if we do not have your pen kit , resin or timber in stock. We will always let you know if we are out of stock when you place your order and give you an estimated date of completion or alternatives. Please let us know if your order is urgent or you have a ‘needed by’ date. If you have any questions about what pens are currently in stock for urgent orders please contact us.
Yes, we love to gift wrap your bespoke timber pen and send directly on your behalf.
Add the name and address of the receiver in the text box as you order, we will expertly gift wrap and send the item on your behalf with a message on a card. The package will include the senders name (yours) but will not include an invoice.
All gift wrapping is complimentary.
Absolutely. Custom timber pens crafted from your own sentimental wood creates a beautiful legacy.
All custom orders pen where you are supplying your own timber need to be approved by us via email or phoning Brad on 0402750677. To start the process, please supply an accurate description including what type of wood you have (if known) and clear pictures so we can ascertain if the timber is likely to be suitable for pen making.
The minimum wood size is 3 cm x 3 cm x 18 cm for one pen. If possible we ask that you supply enough timber for two pens in case of breakages. If only one piece of timber is required for your order we are happy to return the excess timber with your completed pen.
While we will use all our skills to create you a custom pen, not all wood will be suitable and this may only be discovered as we turn it. If we are unable to complete your full order with the wood you supplied, you are welcome to complete the order with a timber substitute we have in stock. If you prefer a refund, we will refund you the price of the pen ordered minus the pen kit costs and an admin fee.
You will need to deliver or post the timber to us at your own expense. Please note that we take no responsibility for the safe arrival of your timber.
So far we have made pens from sentimental wood sources such as a piano, bi-plane, rolling pin, railway bridge, jetty, arm chair, bookcase, vintage dressing table, golf club, cricket bat and a lounge chair.
We do allow non-contact pick ups on the northside of Brisbane by appointment, but please check our availability with us before using this option. All orders must be paid in full prior to pick up.
We also regularly attend Sunday markets where you can pick up your order around Brisbane City.

All our pens are individually handmade by artisans and we pride ourselves in small batching orders of unique bespoke pens.
We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change you mind. However, we are aware many of our products are given as gifts and if the item is deemed unsuitable for intended use (ie too heavy, too thin / thick, prefer a rollerball to a fountain pen, prefer gold to chrome for example), it is at our discretion to offer you an exchange. Any item wishing to be considered for exchange must be in unused, mint condition and resale-able with no engravings, and include the pen box. We reserve the right to not give refunds simply for a change of mind.
We offer a lifetime guarantee on the workmanship of our pens, pencils and letter openers. This includes the timber or resin body, as well as fittings, provided general care principles are followed: avoid extreme temperatures, store the item correctly and protected (protective case, pen pouch, pen box, pen roll or pen stand), keeping it away from objects and situations that may damage the pen or finish.
Australian timbers are world class; spectacular in range with huge diversity and are by far our favourite timbers to use.
We make it a priority to source all our wood in a way that has the least impact on our environment. We go out of our way to obtain sustainable, reclaimed and salvaged timbers and endeavour to source local timbers whenever possible. We keep a small selection of international timbers and are happy to source other timbers on special order.
We pride ourselves in being the Australian timber pen specialists.
