Gidgee Timber

This fountain pen is created from Australian gidgee timber. Gidgee is prized for its strength and durability and is one of Australia's hardest timbers. The heartwood is a deep, rich brown colour and the sapwood is pale. Gidgee timber has a very fine grain and can be highly figured. The indigenous Kalkadoon people made nulla nulla's, shields, boomerangs, swords and clapsticks from gidgee’s rich, brown wood.

Personalisation: While the dark coloured timber in this pen makes personalising this timber pen difficult, we can personalise a wooden pen box via laser engraving. In the text box provided:
