Rain Tree Timber

Rain trees are massive umbrella-shaped trees that grow to 60 m tall and are valued for their timber. Rain tree pods are edible, containing a liquorice-like, sweet-flavoured pulp. The popular, heavily striated rain tree timber is straw to smokey coloured and truly stunning. It is commonly found growing in tropical north Queensland, though it is not an Australian native.
